Let me know if anybody knows following questions.

When can I expect that file which is edited at the FCP is exported by MXF Format?
As I know, Flip4Mac of Telestream can be imported by MXF Format, then, when is it going
to support to export by MXF Format?
And, is there other product supports the MXF Format?

    Thank you

First of all, why do you want to export to an MXF file? At the moment, there are no uses for that other than maybe exporting it back to an XDCAM disc or P2 card as a file, which would be a much faster way of dumping a show to disc or card. You do know that you can export a Quicktime movie in the MXF format, don’t you?

I have talked with Telestream and they understand the importantance of this but haven’t said whether this will be included or not.

At this moment, all I am looking for, is a way for the plugin to select audio channels and the number of channels you want to import. I don’t need a file with eight channels of audio if my field footage has only two or four.

By the way, most all of the NLE out here understand the MXF format for importing but not to export. Sony’s XDCAM has the only real need for exporting because of its operating costs make it perfect for mastering to disc and archiving, but that’s only one manufacturer out of many. So, I think the export function is going to be a ways away before we see it.
