About losing focus on timeline

I notice when I pull a clip from media bin to timeline, that when I drop the clip, the focus does not stay with the clip on the timeline but stays on the media bin… so any key commands intended for the timeline are run on the media bin… (Mostly harmless so far …)
That seems quite unnatural and not what you’d expect to have happen.
Is this something controlled by the OS? or can it be adjusted or something .. inside Vegas.

The only workaround I know of is to click on the clip after you drop it on the timeline.
