About exact cursor placement on timeline
First let me get some terminology as vegas uses it.
On the timeline, the thing that moves when you press play… What is that referred to as?
In this post I’ll call it the cursor.
There is also a narrow black vertical line or bar, that stays visible and marks the spot from where the cursor started its motion.
What is that bar called?
I find it really aggravating that the cursor returns to the black bar or the place where it started when I stop play by hitting the space bar.
Although at times that is what I want to have happen, most often I want the cursor to stay wherever it is when I press the space bar.
No doubt because I’m used to the behavior of Adobe tools where the cursor freezes wherever it is when you press space bar to stop play.
Hopefully I’ll get used to it…. but the adobe style does have a good usage… it means you can place the cursor during the course of play wherever you want just by pressing the space bar.
I do that quite a lot.
In Vegas, is there some way to make that black bar catchup to the cursor during play?
I realize the bar moves with the cursor if I move the cursor with the arrow keys, but then I have no sound to guide me which is something I’ve learned to use from long habit with adobe tools.
