  abnormally long render times for title text in fcp x

  I’m entering title text in FCP X and each letter is taking about 5 seconds to appear… also, whenever I leave FCP X and come back to it, the wheel starts spinning and FCP isn’t available for about 30 seconds.. This is very frustrating when on deadline!!! Any solutions?
