  Ability to import JVC digital video camera files into Premier

  Premier 6.x on the Mac
  JVC MC-500 new digital video camera.

  The camera came with a PC-only DVD editing program that reads these files, but no Mac version. This file format was not recognized when I tried to import into the Mac/Premier 6.x. It does not appear to be a standard MPEG-4 format. These new JVC cameras use replacable hard drives instead of tape. I am having to convert the s-video to DV format externally, which will likely cause quality loss.

  Anyone else know how to get this camera’s video into Premier without converting?
