I had a project recently where my client had a bunch of clips (each several minutes long), say 15 of them. Then they wanted to pull JUST the part where their product is mentioned and make a montage of those. So we’d have 15 different people saying “ProductX,ProductX,ProductX,ProductX,ProductX,ProductX,ProductX” all one on top of the other.

Rather than going through and listening to each clip individually I made a new .txt document with ProductX repeated several times, each on its own line, and imported that into the project as a New Script.

I then took each clip, laid it against the script and performed the ScriptSync. Then I simply subclipped out each mention of ProductX into a separate bin. Deleted the take from the script and added the next clip and redo the ScriptSync.

I’d guess the whole process went 3 or 4 times faster than going through each clip individually at 2x speed which is the method I probably would of used had I not tried ScriptSync.

I was really pleased with the results, and thought I’d pass it along.

    Happy Holidays,

    ac
