i have a avi clip of about 5 mins. and i want only about 2 mins from this video. 4 sections of 30 secs each.. how do i break the movie to get only the parts i want…

i know its ctrl+shift+D, but that gives me movie from 0:00 till current frame. i want say from 00:32 secs to 00:55 secs.
    just an example..

so pls let me know how do i go about it… thank u soo much..

Double-click on the clip in the Project window.

Set the in and out points (the squiggly brackets) to where you want the start and end of the first section to be. Then press the Overlay Edit button to add it to your comp.

Change the in and out points to the next section you want to use. Repeat as above until all the sections you want are in the comp.

There’s another way to do this. Simpler, but sometimes a little more fussy to get it right. Drag your footage into the comp as many times as you need it. Then for each instance, simply drag the in and out handles for the layer’s time bar to where you want that section to be.
