  • A question about bitrate

    Hi,

I have been trying to burn some VHS to DVD for a while. So many problems using the Elgato software, wish I had invested in a player. But the reason I didn’t is I thought they couldn’t burn dual layer disks as told by both Curry’s and Hughes!! – but they can!! The latest try at using the elgato made the DVD out of sync!

Anyway, have now employed someone to do it, but there recorder only burns to single layer.

My question is for 3 1/2 hours the bit rate is 4mbps. The quality is understandably not great. How better would the quality be if I quickly invest in a dual layer DVD burner?

You can break into 2 DVD’s. Just find a spot to stop it and start recording on the 2nd DVD at the same spot. You can long play record, but it’ll drop the quality.
