A little Help…render is missing part of the right frame
I have a very unusual thing happening. I have a p2 720p 60Hz DVCProHD project…editing all P2 footage from my system and every time I render some of clips but not all have a huge missing piece of the frame…

I have Color Finesse on with some of the clips that are having issues, however in my preview everything looks great…
If I look at the Rendered PREVIEW FILES they also look fine. I attempted to delete these and closed down PPro and then reopened and generated all new previews to see if would resolve itself…

Could those be at a different rate ? Something like 24 “pN” or 30 “pN” ?
Color finesse hasn’t be very up to date lately, and the pN footage is not really compatible with anything. If you have an Aja or Decklink card and try to preview it, you’ll see exactly that.

It was recorded in Pn, but then again everything I have ever recorded with my HVX has been Pn…
As far as I am aware Pn is just related to the aquisition, but doesn’t effect editing what so ever…unlinke 29.97 vs. 24 and all the 3:2 pulldown issues.
I didn’t understand what you meant by preview with Kona / Blackmagic and the issue would rear its ugly head. Seems to me that it should show up in my preview/render files, but it doesn’t.
If I shoot 2fps Pn then it is just laying down 2 frames next to the previous 2 frames captured in a 24fps or 29.97 fps format.
Hmmm…I am not very stoked about the multiformat timeline and these issues. Renders take so long just to find out they didn’t work. If I start a render and expect a video to be ready Monday and run into these issues and resolve them by Thursday for delivery on Friday well then I am only a week behind every single time I try to do a project, that is n’t bad, Right? Last time it was QT issues causing the system to crash. Oh Geez this sucks!

The (similar) issue comes up with me when previewed “through” AJA, and only with pN. Now that you mentioned Kona, that would mean that you are on a Mac ? That could a whole new ball game… Did you say that the issue only comes up with the Color Finesse effect?

I am on PC…I was just asking what you meant by it will show through a Kona or Blackmagic card…
So here is the issue with more detail and accuracy…
In my standard Premier Pro 720 DVCPro HD timeline when I use a clip and apply Color Finesse on a either a non native (to the timeline) format, or @$pn footage that wa either undercranked or overcranked it is only rendering the 720×960 portion of the frame and ignores the rest…
I have talked with Color Finesse and they are looking into it and here are some links for comparison:
