‘A Haunting’ Effect
Hi there
You know the TV series “The Haunting” — let’s say they are looking at a house using a far shot — then within a second, they fast forward to being up at the front door.
They use this effect sort of like a transition.
I have experimented with this trying to simply speed up the video, but it doesn’t really give me the same effect.
Is this achieved by “time remapping”?
How would you do this? — are there any tutorials on this specifically?
If possible can you show it using Final Cut Studio set of programs? or perhaps one of;-Final Cut Pro
-Motion 2.0
-Shake— better yet — how to make that effect, then have it update in Final Cut Pro — for instance let’s say you have your whole show all cut up in Final Cut Pro — then you want to add that affect to one small segment — say a section of like two or three seconds. Is there anyway to highlight just that segment of the timeline, and send just in that segment to Motion or Shake, then do your fact, then have it update in Final Cut Pro?
I have found that when you send something to Motion or Shake, it’s usually the whole timeline — how do you send just that section?
heres an example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0j9rHwqGvho — you can see the effect from 1:30 into this video — used extensively at the beginning — how is that done?
best, Phil
