I want to be able to make a rotating halo(Saint, angel ring on head) in AE. I had some ideas, such as to make a shape layer of a circle and pre-compose it, made it 3d, rotate it in x axis and moved the duplicates on y axis to create depth and rotate it but..how do I make it appear as though they are rotating on top of the head? Is there any easier way to achieve it?

You could try using 3d stroke to make the halo. This would allow you to have a 3d ring with depth. As far as rotation you could put a slight bend in the halo and this would allow you to see the rotation along the same plane as the halo. I’m sure that there are many other ways to do this as well.

    Hi Jerald

I am looking for a halo effect and I saw your post. Did you ever manage to sort it? I would love any help you can offer. Many thanks for listening.
