Not sure right place to ask this but here we go.

What is a good DVD writer/player to buy for my G4? A Lacie one? IBM?. internal/external? My local Apple store say they install IBM disks. They don’t sound trustworty, are they?
It needs to be able to writer double-layer DVDs.
The principle use I will make is to record good quality previews of my documentary rough cuts for funding and pitching.

    Your comments are appreciated.

The Pioneer A9 is pretty much the standard these days, and its pretty much what we all know as the Apple Super Drive.

Apple’s own Superdrives are the Pioneer A103, A104, A105, etc.. series, now up to A110. They all write to DVD-R. The A110 will also write to DVD+R and DVD-RAM, which can be useful. (Note the A110D does NOT write to DVD-RAM). They can be fitted internally, or externally in a FireWire case.
