September 22, 2006 at 11:52 pmYes. I get that message when capturing Varicam footage that is mixed frame rates. The DP will be shooting 24p, then switch to 60fps for a slow motion shot. When the tape hits that spot, the cadence is different and it aborts capture. So what you need to do is log the footage before the break and after, then recapture.

September 23, 2006 at 3:24 amThanks. I was the cameraman and would not make such a change. I tried capturing again from another camera and it worked. Now I wonder if one of my camera’s is in need to of maintenance.

back up- this has nothing to do with how a varicam plays out via HDSDI. What camera are you recording from and how? This error is usually from FW captured content and not HDSDI (I have never seen it in an HDSDI capture to my Kona cards)This was a traditional error in FCP4.5 that told you that the frame rate of your clip had changed. Even if it was from 24p to 30p you would get this error message.
