    Hi All,

I’m trying to re-create something similar to this (https://streamable.com/9taomd).

I have setup a After Effects scene with particular and 6 flower sprites, and they are using a layer emitter to position the flowers. The layer emitter is a basic noise turbulence. The flowers slowly move around the composition and fade away with a life of 25 seconds long.

My issue is that it runs relatively fast in the preview (at half resolution preview) however when trying to render the composition it is insanely long (160 hours to render a 30-second clip!!!). Why is it so slow, and is there anything in particular that I can change to speed it up whilst keeping it looking the same?

I think you would better use Trapcode Form, which creates the Particles once at the start of the layer and keeps them alive infinitely, instead of keeping spawning 80 flowers a second, at least that’s not what the example looks like.

Thanks, I didn’t think about Form. I’ll give this a go.
