  8.1 Avid AAF Round trip leaves some shots unrendered

  Hiya,

  I’ve been testing the water recently with the AAF round trip, and whilst it seems to do a very good job on the whole, it appears that some clips link back to the original ungraded Avid media.

  This seems to happen to clips that have an effect that Davinici supports (dissolve, dip to color etc) on either side of a clip. If it is only on one side, or if it is another type of dissolve (conceal for example), the grade will come though fine.

  Upon investigation, Davinci renders the clip, but the AAF that I import into avid brings neither the clip into the bin nor has it in the sequence. If I media tool, I can find the clip manually and cut it in, and alternately if I cut the clip in two (thus making it have a dissolve on only one side) in Avid before I export the AAF to DaVinci, the problem is worked around, but I wondered if anyone else was having similar problems.
