    ok, i m pretty sure they drew it by hands at the time but i m trying to replicate all those crazy “flash/lightning effects” that we can see on those 80s cartoon, best exemple :

    thundercats intro, see all those speedy flashy strokes of lights? damn i would love to apply those on some 2d motion graphics, any idea on how achieve that ?

    Study the animation and see how long each effect is. I’d imagine it’s just a few frames.
    Determine what has to be drawn by hand, and what doesn’t.
    For the handmade stuff, consider a white solid and a mask.
    For the other stuff, consider Lend Flare, Shine (Trapcode), Glow and so on.

    Don’t shy away from handmade stuff. If it’s just a couple of frames, it’s no big deal.
