    Hello,

I have been tasked with creating and motion graphics for an award show. With nominees mainly from the gaming industry – so going for a retro gaming theme. In my research I came across this:

    https://vimeo.com/122161513

I love the pixelly/grainy treatment as it gives authenticity, almost like its been filmed off a TV. any ideas how they might have got there? Im guessing the animation is all created in AE..

    Thanks in adv..

You can get part way there using the Bad TV preset. Add a track matte for the pixelated look.

It was filmed off of a TV, 17 different TVs actually.

That pixelated analogue look is really hard to replicate. But the Bad TV presets by RowByte are pretty awesome.

Hi, Thanks very much for taking the time to explain how I might achiveve the grainy TV effect in AE.
And for the p[roject file, looks great – I never thought of using Ball Action to create the track matte. New Techniques!
    Cheers
