7D Master Compression
Hey,
I know this topic might seem a little redundant to you guys but your site is very helpful and I want to get everything right.
I am currently editing a music video on my macbook pro using final cut pro. I shot the entire video in 1080p 24. Now, everything I am putting in final cut I am compressing to Apple ProRes 422 LT (good so far?) but when I am done is there a certain way I’m supposed to compress the entire project for deliverables. I want to make a video for web streaming and a video for DVD. I read something about exporting it as a self contained quicktime movie and then compressing, is this right?
Also, what about exporting to motion and back to FCP, any rules?

What I have done is: convert to Apple Pro Res HQ via MPEG Streamclip, edit on Final Cut, export a quicktime movie in Apple Pro Res HQ and this movie would be my “Master” then I go back to MPEG Streamclip to convert to a .MP4 to deliver via web, I hope this helps, you can see some of what I did this way here https://vimeo.com/8928987 and https://vimeo.com/14638929, hope this helps
