Anyone know where I’d buy just a 75mm bowl, mountable to some sort of plate. I’m working on a homemade dolly, and would like to be able to drop the head of my Manfrotto 501 into it. Not sure what this would be called, but just a bowl with short fixed legs for bolting down.

    Thanks!

It is called a Hi Hat.

    Here is an example:

Exactly, thanks! Now I just need to get a decent head, instead of this P.O.S. Manfrotto.

Personally I really like the Miller Solo heads, the carbon fiber sticks are really nice too.

I have 2 of them for EX3 and they even support a DSR500, they are light and very smooth. One of them is 7+ years old and is still in perfect shape after lots of shipping and heavy use both hot and cold, -20℉ to 100+℉.

Will: Check out Cartoni HiDV1 for about $800. Hands down, the best head I have ever used. B&H has jumped their price to over $1,000. so you may have to check around. The HiDV1 is a 75mm.

Thanks guys. It seems from what I read that between Miller, Cartoni, and Satchler I’d be a lot happier.
