    Hi,
I have a project I’m working on which is PAL 576i but I need to combine with some 720p50 footage from a DSLR.

Can I use the 720p50 footage and make it so that each full frame becomes a half frame in the 50i composition? Basically I want to output 576i but I don’t want to lose the motion when I get to the 720p50 footage. In my head it seems possible … just cut out every other line on the 50p footage and it will be the same as 50i footage …? But how to do this?

Appreciate any help on this. Thanks

you would bring the 720p50 into a 576 25fps comp, scale the footage to fit (if desired) and then when you render you’d click the render settings and choose to field render (pick the order) and the output will be interlaced.

great. super easy! and doing this I won’t lose any temporal resolution right? each rendered half frame will be taken from one of the full 50p frames?

yep, depending on the field order chosen, even frames will become one set of fields and odd frames will the the other.
