    Hello all

I am editing a show on FCPHD – 10.3.9 – we’ve digitized 10 hours of DVCPro HD tapes shot at 23.98 on the Varicam – stuff looks sweet – it is easy to work with.

there are at least 3 other entities with the exact same media set (duplicate media files) and FCP set-up and we are emailing project files back and forth – so upgrading to 5 or changing the OS is not an option

    1. We digitized on a G5 with FCP5 – we could see 4 audio tracks in FCP5 – in 4.5 the audio is one track – anyway to get these back as discrete tracks ?

Markers were entered and then subclips were made from the markers on the master clips

    2. is there anyway to get the comments info in the marker section to transfer with the subclip ?
    3. I have tried to go back to the master clip by choosing “reveal master clip” when the playhead is parked on the beginning of the subclip, but instead of actually revealing the master, all it reveals is the subclip – any thoughts ?

    thanks

NO not in 4.5 Not unless you export the additional tracks out as AIFF.

markers are part of the project file not the item.

thanks for your response – that is helpful to know about the way 4.5 treats audio

yes, I realize this about markers having worked with FCP from 1.x – however, when one uses markers to make subclips, the name of the marker is carried over, so why not the comments (like in the comment field of the subclip ?)

Also why can’t I reference the master clip ? can someone try this ? create a subclip from a master and then park your playhead on any frame in the subclip and hit shift-F and see if that reveals either the subclip or the master ? I don’t know if I am doing something wrong or what

    thanks
