I shot all my footage in 1080i60 ( for over cranking purposes) and would like to have it in 24p. for the sake of rendering time I rough edited the footage in its native form then transfered it to a timeline that was set for 24p.

Does anyone know a better way to do this, I need this footage looking as good as possible.

Also I need to export to a beta tape for broadcast purposes, What is the best possible export procedure for getting the highest quality video. I have compressor and used it a few times but am not 100% sure of all its capabilities.

Has anyone edited footage similar to this for broadcast use, this is my first time doing so and don’t want to screw it up.

You can get a good 1080p60, from your 1080i60, with FieldKit.
It will make a frame from each field.
However, as Dave said, then you will need to discharge 36 frames per second to get that at p24.
Don’t know how that will look.

If you want all of your footage a 24p, slowed down from 60i, there’s this old gem from back in ought three.

ahhh crap. Ok whats done is done, reshoot is not possible. So here I am stuck with this footage and it needs to be converted to 24p, I already have done most of the editing and would prefer not to have to do it over again. Can I conform the footage to 24p in cinema tools while keeping the edit in the timeline or do I have to convert the raw capture footage separately.

Does all of your footage need to be slomo? Or some?

    Hi David,
Yes, Fields kit makes an incredible job.
If Adam want the footage slow down: CinemaTools.
But if he intends to use some at real speed, I get will look choppy.
