5th SATA Drive in Mac Pro
Does anybody know where, If any spare SATA connections there might be on the logic board of a Mac Pro. I want to put a 5th drive in the spare CD/DVD bay, but was dismayed to find that there was not a SATA port just ready and wiiling for me to install my drive with.

You could put up to four more in there, but you have to use a PCI card with internal sata connections, and then you have to figure out where to run the cables, and why not just pick up an external enclosure for several more drives?

There are TWO spare SATA connections on the logic board.

This is a product that can add between 2 drives (under the optical) or 4 drives (if you remove the optical).

This is news to me. Great news. When I upgrade I’ll have a spare PCI slot because I won’t need a SATA card.
