5D Footages and Adobe Premiere Pro. Should I go for the new Mac Pro? or iMac?
Hello, everyone!
I have a question regarding editing with Adobe Premiere Pro.
For 2 reasons,↓
1. I work with more Canon 5D footages lately,
(I hear Pr can edit QuickTime movie with h.264 codec natively.)2. FCP7 seems like a dying software for professional editing use,
(FCPX doesn’t seem like a editing software for a professional production.)I’m thinking of changing my editing software to Adobe Premiere Pro.
I’m also thinking of upgrading my more than 3-yr old iMac to
either the newest iMac or new Mac Pro Tower. If I only use, FCP7 which deals with 32bit/4G RAM/only 1 processor core,
I think iMac is better in terms of Cost/Performance ratio.Would that be the same with Premiere Pro?
Also, can anyone tell me the difference of the processing speed
(Rendering, Exporting, Effect handling)
between iMac and Mac Pro?When one software uses only 4G RAM and 1 core, why is it that important to have
a better machine to work with?Mikiko Katsuno
