59.94p -> 29.97i, for Blu-ray. Any particular method?
I’ve got a two-hour long project in AE CS3 which is rendered entirely as 1920×1080 @ 59.94p. 59.94 full frames per second; not fields. Because I must export this to Encore CS3 to be rendered as a Blu-ray image, I’m wanting to take the entire composition and place it in a new composition whose settings match whatever is fully compatible with the Blu-ray spec, per Encore’s encoding process.
I know that the Blu-ray will need to be 29.97 fps, interlaced. I don’t know if that’s top or bottom field first. I don’t know how to get AE to take a 59.94p project and interlace it. It doesn’t look like it’s got the option built-in. (Except when you add it to the render queue, at which point AE offers precisely what I need, ie a field render option.) I also don’t know if this is all moot; perhaps Encore CS3 does the interlacing properly if it gets 59.94p video. Who knows.
Any takers? ;p
