    Hi Guys,

I’m currently cutting a short film in FCP the footage has all be captured at 59.94 DVCPro HD [shot on a Varicam]and has been cut at this frame rate, i now need to output to DVD to show the UK film council, i’ve tried just dumping it into a 25 fps sequence but some of the shots are coming out stuttery, what am i doing wrong ? is there a easier way to do this… or is it an after effects ting…

I’m currently trying the frame rate converter, converting to 24p and then bringing it back up to 25 ?? This is just for a preview of the offline, but the stutter is not acceptable at the mo.. i just need a a decent quality PAL version to screen.

    I’d appreciate any ideas

    Eddie

The ideal way to do it would be to take it to a transfer house and getting them to do a cross converton a terranex or a snell and wilcox. Otherwise if its for a DVD use compressor.

    wow

    first however,
    what was it shot at?
    what was is cut at?

if it was shot 23.98 and cut to that- you can conform the file in Cinema Tools to be a 25p master.

I recently found out that 24p DVD’s are playable on most PAL DVD players (thanks graeme)

Otherwise you are going to need a conversion house as mentioned.
