59.94 fps to 23.98?
I’m fairly new to all of this, so here’s my situation.
We did a shoot at 59.94 fps and I want to output things to a lower framerate because they are going to be viewed as well on the web as streaming flvs. I also want to add some F/X.
I’ve tried Andrew Kramer’s FPS Converter but there are a lot of weird frames and artifacts occasionally.
How do I work around this problem?

Is your source footage interlaced? Are you going to want progressive output?

make sure your footage is interpreted correctly in ae… select the footage in the project window, then choose file>interpret footgae>main. make sure it has the correct framerate and particularly the correct separate field order if the footage is interlaced.
if those settings are correct, then you should be able to drop the footage into a 23.98 comp, and it should work pretty well. you may try enabling frame blending to try to smooth the motion out a bit too.
if you want to use timewarp, you can download a simplifed version of framerate converter at . the steps are slightly different: leave the footage at the original framerate, put into a comp with the new framerate, apply the preset. you don’t need to change any values or enter framerates, it gets those from the footage and thecomp settings automaticly. that being said, i don’t think you’ll see a big difference using timewarp or the method described above.
