5400 vs. 7200 rpm on external hard drive
I am looking to buy a new external hard drive that has lots of mobility, so I’m looking at the Lacie “rugged all terrain hard drive” with FireWire 800, FireWire 400 & Hi-speed USB 2.0. Both the 80 GB and the 120 GB models are 5400 rpm rotational speed and the 100 GB hard drive(which, coincidentally, costs a lot more) has a 7200 rpm rotational speed. I am thinking that the difference between that 7200 and the 5400 speed probably really makes a difference for video editing, am I right? Does anyone have any information or advice regarding this?
Much appreciated!
