    Hey all,

I recently upgraded to FCP 5.1.2 (or crossgraded, whichever you prefer), and have now become aware that I can’t use my Boris BCC3 filters on my clips. When I put a BCC filter onto a clip, the clip disappears.

I tried reinstalling Boris Red 3.0 & BCC from their installation CDs, and then installing the 5.1 updates for both which I downloaded from the BorisFX website. I followed the instructions the best I could, CAPS on & then off and all that, but it’s still broken. This is really frustrating… I’ve been pushing hard in my department for the FCP crossgrade, and now if we all lose our Boris capability my name will sure be worth a lot…

Any thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks.

BCC 3 requires an update from the Boris site to work with FCP 5.1.2 on a G5 machine. If you have an Intel machine you MUST upgrade to BCC 4 and download the script fix.

Not only that, you have to follow their instructions to the letter and sometimes it takes a little more than that as their instructions don’t work everytime. It took me quite a while to get it up and running and my G5. Trashing the cache was crucial.

    HI,

I just upgraded and found I’m in the same boat!

I’m on BCC 3.0 – and unless I’m missing something, there is only a patch for BCC 4.0 on the Boris site [which I downloaded, but didn’t seem to work].

Can anyone please give me a direct link to the BCC 3.0 patch link?!?!

Thank you SO MUCH in advance.

    Yours,

$250 upgrade just to get my $700 plug-ins to work like before?

FCP 5.1.2 and BCC 3 work very well on my G4 Powerbook 1.25. I have not installed it on my G5 2.5. You do have to follow Boris instructions very carefully.

It is worth it though. The filters render very fast on the Intel box.
