January 4, 2007 at 4:07 pmNow wait a minute, I’m confused. I DO have to have BCC4, or I don’t? It seems like some are saying “follow the upgrade instructions” (which I’ve been trying to do by the way, no luck so far) and some are saying “upgrade your Boris” – which is it? I don’t have an intel machine – just the regular ol’ G5 (and that’s the way it’ll be for a loooong time I have a feeling). Thanks for clarifying for a bonehead.

On the Intel Mac Pro, Yes you need BCC 4.
If you’re on a G5 I believe BCC 3 will still work in FCP 5.1.2 but you have to get the latest update from Boris and follow the instructions EXACTLY to make it work correctly.

January 4, 2007 at 6:25 pmI’m on a G5, FCP 5.1.2, and Boris CC4 (with the patch from Boris) works on some of our edit suites. The Transitions crash FCP every time and you have to delete your prefs and restart to get back to square one. The filters work on some of our machines but not others. It appears they have destabilized all the machines to varying degrees. Still trying to work it out some more scientific cause and effects.
