Continuum Complete seems to work after running the patch for Intel Macs, even though my G5 is not an Intel Mac. Boris tech walked me through this one, but after doing it, I can’t open pre-patch FCP projects. I have to drag all the plugins onto the desktop to open old projects.

But today there’s another Boris problem. Title 3d is crashing FCP every time I use it. This is inconvenient to say the least, I dunno, two strikes against Boris ain’t good. Any fixes for these?

That is something for which you require the BCC Script for. That will change the names of all the plug-ins to have a “z” in front of them. No idea what that does, but it fixes the Title 3D incompatibility.

    Walter,

I ran that script installing my BCC but it did not change anything in my Title 3D plugin. Is there a setting in it or something?

It doesn’t change anything with Title 3D, it changes the BCC plugs.

If it’s still not working, contact Boris Tech Support. They’re the ones who helped me when I had the same problem.

Boris (yes, Boris Yamnitsky) has told me that the next version of FCP will fix many incompatible problems. I hate to have to wait but what what can you do.
I am running BCC 3/Red 3GL on my Dual 2.5 G5 and Red 4 on the Mac Pro Dual 3.0. I am waiting to upgrade to BCC 4 until everything works together without problems.
I use my Boris plug-ins on most of my projects.

BCC 3 does NOT work on an Intel Mac. only BCC 4 does. We’re running BCC 4 on our Mac Pro Quad 3.0 with zero issues since we ran the Script to fix the incompatibility with Title 3D.

I met him back in ’95 or ’96 when he first launched Boris FX for the Media 100 and AE. Cool guy.

No idea why Apple would change the Plug In architecture in the middle of a version. FCP 5.0 was one way, then FCP 5.1 introduced the FX Plugs architecture. Why not just wait until FCP 6 and make the change in one fell swoop?
