Since installing 5.1 on 3 occassions today when I have been scrolling back or forward through the timeline and then click in the timeline the playhead goes into permanent scrolling and you cannot stop it for about 3 minutes.
Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

    Hi Sean,

That doesn’t sound like a driver issue to me. I suggest deleting your FCP preferences and then see if the problem still exists. One way to do that would be to run the DeckLink Uninstaller.

OK tried deleting prefs. No difference. Can you see if you can replicate it?
Open a large timeline. Start scrolling at 2 to 2 X speed by hitting the L key a few times.
Then click in the timeline. You will loss control over FCP completely.

    Hi Sean,

We can’t seem to reproduce it here. May I know what format is your timeline and does this happen the momement the project is opened or only after working in Final Cut Pro for a couple of hours?

    regards

Thanks for trying. The project is format is PAL. The capture compression is JPEG 50.
I have done it on long 3 hour sequences(requires force quit) and short 30 second sequences.
I have de and reinstalled several times.
Can’t seem to get rid of the problem. As long as I don’t touch the mouse while scrolling it will be fine.
