July 1, 2018 at 7:15 pmHi Rick,
While waiting for some more information I made several test, here is another sample render Youtube. Please don’t pay attention to the lead-in 4K video, I just threw it in to see if I could trip up the still, it didn’t, the stills again, in this example are not pixalated like you issue. I still cannot duplicate your issue.

July 2, 2018 at 2:38 pmOK, I tried sumthin a little different this time…..
I resized the photos a little smaller thinking it was just overtaxing my laptop, but it wasn’t the case, however, I changed up the transitions a bit using both spin and fade.
On the spin transitions, you can see the pixelation, but the fading transitions all look smooth

Again, this was a 4k render (MainConcept AVC/AAC)
Could it be that the spin transition just isn’t compatible with 4k renders? (it works fine on 1080)
As for the song, I did a search for Royalty Free music on YouTube for a video I made for the Scotty Kilmer channel

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TNEWpGrQe4It’s called Hot Rod Son and the uploader was “BibiH”

July 2, 2018 at 5:59 pmJust made a simple test in Sony Vegas Pro 13 – with 4032×3024 Iphone 8 pic
On a 3840×2160 timeline – Render to MainConcept AVC/mp4 Frame size: 3840×2160
The photos was pixelated at all the transitions ! Tried to render with other codecs – there were only problems with MainConcept !

July 2, 2018 at 6:33 pmI’m on my iPad at work right now, but I’ll get the screen shots of the settings when I get home tonight.
So far, Main Concept is the only codec that allows me to render in 4K as the others I’ve tried usually result in errors before the render even starts.

July 2, 2018 at 8:02 pmHi Rick,
I think you already have tried to turn off GPU acceleration, is that correct? Also, please add into the information what make, model, and driver version of your GPU. This may be related to the GPU driver. Also what is your OS? If you are on Windows 10, it has been known to force updating drivers, which means if you have a misbehaving driver update and need to roll it back, Win 10 will just come back and automatically update to the bad driver……this can make a mess, but if this is the case there may still be a work around. So to review, please add the following to the information previously requested when you have the time later after work:
The spin transition you are using, is that Sony/Vegas internal or a add-on?
This probably explains why I could not get the pixelating, because all I used in my test was the fade transition.
GPU make, model and driver version
Operating System and build/version numberBest Regards……George

July 2, 2018 at 8:44 pmOops! I forgot the other import info, the spin transition. What is the exact transition you are using to get the spin you like?
Best Regards……George

July 2, 2018 at 9:11 pmVegas Pro 12
Windows 8 (updates turned off)
The spin transition is part of Vegas, not an add on (same thing I’ve been using since Sonic Foundry Vegas 3)
I’ll get the rest of the info later tonight -

July 2, 2018 at 10:00 pmThanks for the info Rick.
Here is another test, and I get the same results, no pixelation! I can’t find any transition labelled “spin”. I on Magix Vegas Pro 15 latest build and also have Sony Vegas Pro 13 latest build. So I used NewBlue MSPPS 3D Flip – OpenFX, with a few adjustments to look similar to your spin transition.
This latest test starts with a set of the 3 stills using the NewBlue MSPPS 3D Flip transition, and the 2nd set of 3 stills is using a simple fade transition created by overlapping the still photo events on the track. They both look fine to me.
I would like to make a test with the exact transition if I have it, depending you providing the name later when you have time. Also, would it be possible for you to put the full resolution stills up in your photo library for me to download as a test. There really should not be a difference, but the closer I can duplicate your source, the better chance I will have at duplicating yout issue.
By the way, can you check to see if your Sony Vegas Pro 12 is on the latest build?
