4K Video Edit machine
Hello Folks,
I am looking for your advice to build 4K Edit Suite.
We purchased a new Mac cheese grater with Radeon Pro 580X with 8GB in order to build a powerful 4K video edit machine.
When I used Adobe Premiere 2020 to set video device output for both Blackmagic Extreme & Redeon HDMI out to large screen I can’t see any difference video or audio-wise between Blackmagic HDMI out & Radeon HDMI out!
Both are acting very well with Premiere sequence in 4K, 2K & HD.
My question here, since Redeon is able to get proper video out from Premiere what will be the need for Blackmagic.
In other words, Blackmagic is supporting a wide range of physical inputs & outputs 12G, 6G, 3G … but in my workflow, there is no use for all of these interfaces as we are using Isilon for all files workflow.
In order to simplify my edit suite, can we totally depend on Redeon HDMI for video editing ?
Is it enough to do multi-frame rate in Premiere without Blackmagic ?

I think if you were relying on the Radeon for both viewing and GUI that might take its toll eventually on the card.
I like to keep my GUI and view options separate.

Hello Eric,
Redeon has 2 HDMI out, one will be dedicated for 4K playback from Adobe Premiere & the other port will keep it free.
For user GUI, I used Thunderbolt3 to HDMI converter which working absolutely perfect.
My main concern since I am not a video editor If Redeon will be sufficient & efficient to use it as Video Device in Premiere rather than buying Blackmagic or AJA ?
Do you know any similar setup which totally depends on GPU as a video playback in Adobe ?
