    Hello you all guys,
I am writing from Italy. That’s the first time I write on this forum, even though I read it every day.
So, i’ve got the following problem: I’ve bought an early 2008 2,8 Ghz octo reconditioned macpro with 2 GB of RAM.
I’d like to add 4 GB RAM (I’d buy it from Crucial) removing, in the same time, the 2 GB that comes with the mac (being, from what I understand, 2-4-8-16 GB of the same brand the magical number for final cut).
But, in the past months, I read about some issues with RAM and macpro (eg see creative cow, then see creative cow and on Walter Biscardi’s blog.
So, my question is: have these issues been solved? Is there anyone that use a 2008 macpro with 4GB RAM? Do I need to buy 8 GB of RAM to solve this problem?

Sorry, another question: the mac comes with os x 10.5.2. What’s, in your experience, the better configuration: system os x 10.5.?, quick time 7.?, final cut pro 6.0.?

Thanks for your thoughts and sorry for the length of post and for my english.

I’ve been using a Mac Pro w/ 4GB of Crucial memory for a long time now. Those problems you posted links could be memory leaks. Memory leaks are the cause of bad software, not bad memory.
