480 or 486 timeline
I didn’t realize this until exporting the video, my timeline was in 480…that’s fine for the DVD exports I did but I have to bring a Quicktime DV movie to a post house to go to Beta Tapes. Since the timeline and video is now 720×480, what happens when it is imported into the Avid and onto Beta? Does the Avid add the missings 6 lines as black to the top and bottom of the video when exporting?

Something like that. I’ve done it enough times to be able to say that you don’t need to worry about it too much. Avid seems to be able to handle it fine (at least the Avid Adrenalin did, not sure about the older AVBV Avids.)
