44.1k Audio Out Of Sync with 48k Video
I’ve seen dozens and dozens of these posts on CreativeCOW but still have not found ANYTHING that has helped one bit. Most advice is overly complex instructions followed by acronyms galore. At this point, I’m aware that the answer must not be so simple, otherwise I would have found a way to fix this problem by now, but please, if you answer, try your best to dumb it down as best as you can as if you can.
I shot a music video for a friend. There are multiple shots of him playing the guitar. All of these videos were shot at a 48k video bit rate. The main audio for the track (the one in which I am syncing all of the guitar clips to) is 44.1k.
When I drag a clip onto the timeline and sync up the beginning of the clip to the proper part of the audio track, it takes mere seconds before you can tell the video is no longer in sync. If the shot was 5 seconds long, it takes 2 seconds before it starts to get out of sync. IF the video is a minute long, it takes much longer before everything falls out of sync.
I have tried many different things in order to resolve this issue. I have exported the 44.1k audio to 48k, and it is still not syncing.
I did the opposite, and tried making the video 44.1k (though I know this isn’t a great way to go about it) and it’s still out of sync.
Nothing I do seems to be working and I have a deadline. If someone can help me I would very much appreciate it!
I am currently using a macbook pro OS X yosemite if that helps.
