4 pt garbage matte
I have two overlapped freeze frames and I am using a four point garbage matte, well, trying to.
Never had this happen using the matte before but its really frustrating. The matte is doing nothing but simply covering everything or nothing. When I drag the points my cursor flashes black and white and nothing happens. I render it and nothing happens, I invert it and everything is covered, invert back nothing covered. I have used the matte in this same project so its nothing with the sequence settings.
I tried using the matte before creating the freeze frame, same problem.
Tried doing it before I combine the freeze frames, same problem.
Quit fcp, restarted computer, everything. Same problem for this single clip.
Any ideas? I’m using fcp 7.

Does the 8pt garbage matte exhibit the same behavior?

Double click the clip on the time-line to open it on the Viewer.
Then tweak the filter on the Viewer Filters tab.
