4 minute long video rendered as 55 Gb and crashes my computer.

I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 10.

The video was 6 minutes long and 4 minutes into the video it crashed (after rendering for about 2 hours).

    My render settings were:

    avi
    uncompressed
    1920×1080
    progressive
    29.97 fps
    render alpha channel
    32 bit color

    Any help?

Problem solved. Simple noob fail. The problem was that I was rendering at a higher quality than my external hard disc drive has room to store.

Solution is to render in MPEG-2 right in Vegas Pro 10 instead of first rendering in uncompressed and then compressing into MPEG-2.

Thanks for posting your solution. It will help others in the same situation. Often times n00bs fail to explain where they went wrong out of embarrassment 🙂
