i’m baffled – i’ve been using the 3 way Colour Corrector for 18 months now, so i’m pretty familiar with it now…but on my latest project (which is no different to any that went before it with regards to video formats etc) i cannot get the plugin to have any effect.

I can drag the plug in to clips and can adjust the settings BUT nothing happens to the image or the waveforms. I have tried rebooting and that makes no difference.

I am running fcp6.0.2 on 10.4.11 and using 10bit uncompressed sd pal footage. Its also happening on footage with no effects or other plug-ins, no time changes etc.

    Any ideas?

having just seen the previous post, i thought i’d try Colorista and thats doing exactly the same – Nothing!!

the plug-in behaves as it should, it just has no effect on the video clip.

The first thing to always try is to Quit FCP, Restart the Mac, Open your FCP project and try again.

    Next:
THE FOLLOWING COMES FROM THE KEN STONE WEBSITE:
“Over 5,000 years ago Confucius wrote: ‘If you are toiling away, you have changed nothing and FCP heads South on you, [starts behaving in strange ways] then it is time to trash your FCP Preferences.’ ”

Click the following link for instructions.

    https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/trashing_fcp_prefs.html

A great way to do this is to use “FCP Rescue” a free Apple Script that will Trash the Preferences for you (and restore nearly all of your user settings afterward).
There are versions for FCP (Pro) & FCE (Express) and a new one for FCP 5.

Download these free Apple Scripts at

    https://fcprescue.andersholck.com/
    or
    https://pistolerapost2.com/fcprescue/

This is one FCP tip that has helped in solving hundreds of “odd” problems.

Thanks Matt – i did say that i had tried rebooting, and i forgot to mention that trashing prefs had made no difference.

The problem this time was that the original project came from an editor who had disabled the render filters option (everything else he has sent me has always been fine!).
