    Hi
Pixelpops.com has some really nice DVD menus but their all PSD photoshop files. DVDA uses XML files to create the menus.

I don’t know how to program new menues in XML to Sny’s specs but I’d sure love to have some different menu selections to use. The old standard ones on Sony’s site are getting boring.

Anyone know if there’s way to use those PSD files or should I just create some new backgrounds in PNG format and change backgrounds on my menus?

Anyway I think the Pixel Pops set is almost $500 phew! But their samples look coool

    Thanks
    Allen

From the Insert menu, chose “Submenu from file…”

This allows you to import .PSD files (Photoshop files) as menus in Vegas. The PSD files are probably created for Premiere, so the layers may be named differently than Vegas wants them. This is easy to fix if you have Photoshop (I use Photoshop Elements for this), but a little harder if you do not have Photoshop.

DVDA3 added the ability to use psd layers.

Yes, Adobe Encore. I do have photoshop Elements 3.0. Are you refering to DVDA2 or 3?

Would I need to do anything special to the files in order to use them?

    Sorry but I’m still using V5 + DVDA2.
    Thanks

    – and remember, if it’s the look of the menu background that you are finding boring, you have always been able to replace the background with any picture of your choice.

I almost never use a “stock” DVDA background – I often create a still from the video program in Vegas and use this as a background.

Pixel Pops will not work directly with DVDA3 as the layer names will need to be changed. If you manually change the names, the product should work with DVDA3.

There are some additional themes on Sony’s website for DVDA that will also work in versions prior to 3.

    Thanks to everyone who responded.

I already have all the themes on Sony’s site. I guess I can just change backgrounds as suggested. I have a lot of those here or as Peter suggested to use a still from the video.

    Thanks again
