Activity Forums Adobe After Effects 3D Wall

    Hey folks,
I’m having a great deal of trouble trying to create this certain effect. Without going into detail on what I have tried, I thought I would ask you guys how you would do it as I haven’t managed to get anything to work.

I have a background image of a room with a few walls. I have an animated layer on top which needs to move across the walls. The problem is the animation needs to move through 3D space as it’s flat against the wall.

I hope that made sense? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks guys.

    Jeff –

If the wall is made up of multiple planes – say, for example, a wall on the right, one in the middle, and one on the left, one way to do it is to create three planes, one for each wall, and break up your animation so that it matches across the three. For realism, you can use the original walls as a distortion map, so that any bumps on the wall will appear to be in the animation (this will require a bit of work on your part, breaking the original image into pieces (per wall), so that each can be used as a distortion map.
