Hi, I’m newly joined, but have been a long time reader of the forum for many years. thanks for all the info contributed on creative cow. I have learned a lot from this site

Well, right now, I’ve run into a tracking challenge where I have to replace the surface of a watch with my own animation. what is the best and cost effective tracker to do something like this?

    here’s a sample video i shot

any info is gratefully appreciated. thank you

Mocha Planar tracker, came bundled with CS5 and you can now launch it from within AE if you have CS6.

yes, i am trying mocha. but since the CS6 AE built in mocha tracker doesn’t support 3D, I downloaded the trial version of mocha’s AE v3. but when I past in the txt information to the null, it throws the center of the null to the far left side and thus making the rotation awkwardly offset. what am i doing wrong?

    thanks for the help

I believe you will actually get better and quicker results if you approach this with a 2D solve.

i got it to work with very little manual key framing on the rotation and scale

John and Ross, thank you very much for your input
