I have a scene setup with 3 objects in 3d space. I want to have a 3d stroke swurv in and out between the object. i cannot for the life of me figure this out. I’ve read things that say i have to sorta fake it. can anyone give me some ideas on how to achieve this?

    thanks

why don’t you try to make a pre-comp duplicate of your 3D Objects and then use the pre-comp as a track matte. Only the object you want to go infront of the stroke should go in the precomp.

I am not at a computer with AE right now, so I can not check. But, I think there is a setting for an OBSCURATION layer somewhere in 3D Stroke. I think it is in the VISIBILITY settings.

Close … it’s in the effect under “camera”, and it’s called “z-clip”. Drag the value until something disappears.

Yes, that is right Steve. I think Particular uses an obscuration layer….or is it another plugin that I am thinking of?

    Yep, that’s particular.
