I’m trying to animate two football helmets to slam into each other and go explodey. I’m having a bit o’ problem doing so.

Here are the steps that I’m going through:

    1) Create a solid and apply Invig Pro 4 to it.
    2) Import Football Helmet Object and assign it all to Set 1. Suddenly, the helmet leaps into the air. I dolly out and notice that the axis and the object are spread out six gridpoints apart from each other. As a matter of fact, if I assign the grouping to various sets, the helmet object and axis dance across the horizon plane in fascinating, but staggery dance.
3} I select Center Object to bring it back to center. I hit ok. Then I center pivot on set one so the object truly does start in the 0,0,0 postion.
    4) I assign the 3d Plane tracking to Set 1. The object doesn’t attach itself to the center of the plane like it does in the manual. It floats in front of the plane.

Can anyone give me a hand in this? This thing is irritating me greatly.
