3D Photoshop layer, Particular & Masks
Thought this would be simple, but how wrong I was.
I have a 3D object from Photoshop, works great no problem, but I want to use it as an obscuration layer with Particular so that particles can fly in front of and behind the 3D object. Masks can’t really be used because the 3D object is itself rotating.
Here’s the problem – the obscuration layer has to be 3D, but the 3D Photoshop layer is actually 2D and it’s the null controller layer that makes it 3D.
Does anyone know a workaround for this? I thought about somehow getting the dropshadow from the 3D object and making a mask on another layer, which is 3D, and then use that for the obscuration layer – is that possible?
This is the main reason I upgraded to CS4 – please help!
