3d nested comps
Hi All!
I have a problem with a comp i’m doing.
its a classic zoom out from a picture to see loads of pics forming words – you know the sort of thing!!
I have to be able to tweak the footage with ease as there are lots of different varieties.
so this is what i’ve made…here goes…
COMPS 1-25 – these are full size hd comps with the content for that panel
COMP 2 – these are nested into another hd comp consisting of the 25 panels from comps 1-25
COMP3 – this new comp is placed in another hd comp and sized down to a tiny size and duped do make up the word.
simple!
now to move around the panels and zoom out to the word i can parent everything to a null and press the continually rasterise button. but i need to zoom so much that i have to sizing and animation is a pain.
what i wanted to do was use a 3d camera.
all my layers are 3d and it all works apart from with the continually rasterise button pressed the layers dont work correctly. with the button off they do but are obviously soft.what am i doing wrong??

figured it out!!
it turns out ONLY have collapse transformations on for the final comp.
every other nested element must be 3d but NOT with collapse transformation on.
learn something new every day!
