  • 3D layer shadow diffusion- want HARD edges

Hello, I have a 3d layer that I have casting a shadow onto another 3d layer. The layer casting the shadow has light transmission set to 100%. As you can see in the image, despite the lights shadow diffusion being set to 0, my shadow still has a soft edge- any ideas how I can get it to a hard edge? Thanks in advance!

Did you try reducing the cone feather? Or reducing the cone angle?

Do you have a layer effect shadow turned on as well?

You might try to bump up the resolution of your shadow map.

Thank you both for the replies. I did already try playing with the cone angle/feather, no luck. Tried a higher resolution for the layer casting the shadow (i think that’s what you meant?), and no luck. I’ve attached an image of the settings on my shadow casting layer.

Huzzah! I wasn’t familiar with the Shadow Map option in Comp Settings. I just upped that and it’s all good. Thanks Michael!
