3d layer positions delay to a null
Hey all,
I’m not sure how best to describe what I’m speaking of, but in the past if I’d like to create a stagger in animation of a group of objects in After Effects, I would parent say 1/3 of the images to a null, scale or fly that null in, pair the next 1/3 of images to a duplicated version of that null and slip it forward a few frames, etc…
I’m looking for an expression that might do this with one null… something more akin to the delay effector in Cinema 4d… where as I can use one null to create that organic staggering effect for lots of images. Specifically in the project I’m working on, I have lots of 3d layers positioned throughout z-space… I’d like to parent everything to one null, and then transition in/out by pulling all images backwards or forwards to disappear or appear… but having that delay where furthest images animate first, followed by next layer, by next, etc.
Is this possible with an expression?
Thank you so much!
