    Hello

I’ve a question about 3D layers loosing saturation, brightness and ultimately being slightly blurred once they are switched to 3D inside a comp with a standard camera.

The camera is default with no depth of field switched on and the layers are PSDs with no position or depth changes from being placed inside the comp.

I’ve not been able to find any info on the net about this but spoken to people who have had the same problem.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

Just to be clear, the layer which becomes less saturated, darker and blurred when you switch it to be a 3D layer has a PSD file as it’s direct source rather than precomp (with PSD inside) right?

Yeah is a direct drop from the project window. No pre-comps – I’ve heard that can cause problems. Switching the 3D layer checkbox back and forth really shows the problem.

It’s a very slight difference but none the less very noticeable at 100% as 720p

I’ll try and post a screen grab

Does the PSD contain any live photoshop 3D elements?

Maybe obvious, but just to check.. have you got any lights in the scene, or forgotten to turn ‘accept lights’ too off in material options?

    hi there,

I’ve posted this already but it doesn’t seem to have appearsed in the thread. Apologies if you are seeing a similar message twice.

    Did anybody solve this problem?

I am having this problem with imported illustrator files as well as text created in after effects. I am not yet using any cameras or adjusting the position of anything. I’ve checked all the suggestions in this thread but still no joy.

I assuming I have some stupid setting switched on. I’ve looked for a box labeled “blur 3d layers, reduce quality or drive user mad” but cant find anything.

I would be seriously grateful for any help. I have two projects to complete this week both suffering from the same problem.

    Thanks

    Gareth
